OCEAN BIOME SETTLERS

Some say they were summoned beneath the waves by the strange, sultry singing of squid-maids.

Some say they stole cursed treasure from an ancient ocean monument.

Some say they worship an ancient power that lies sleeping in a deep marine city, and work secretly to awake it.

Some say they just really, really love them some clams. Mm-mmm! Clams! Clams in butter. Deep-fried clams. Clam soup. Clam jelly. Clam ice cream. Clams. CLAMS.

THE END SETTLERS

What frightful faces lie beneath their masks? Are the people of The End hideously deformed by some barbaric ritual? Or are they simply shy?

Maybe they think it’s just none of anyone else’s business!

Personally, I’ve heard that their coverings are a clever way of avoiding the baleful stare of the endermen who populate the dimension. But then again, some of those coverings are fashioned after giant Eyes of Ender - so perhaps they’re out to provoke rather than placate.

FARLAND SETTLERS

At the very edges of the map, things bre½ak doʬn. The clever code that unspools hills and forests from each world’s seed begins to go awʁy and things get a little wəird. Lakes float in the sky. Shelves of land rise up like giant slices of layer-cake. You’re not in Kansas any more, that’$ fo,,r ssure&&.

And who could survive here, but folk as messed up as the terrain itself? Behold! A bunch of Picasso-faced freaks, with eyes for noses, noses for eyes, and, in at least one case, a dog embedded in their head. What are they about? Do they even know themselves? One person who definitely knows is our ace Minecraft artist and designer on the skin pack, Sarah Kisor:

"This was one of my absolute favorite packs to work on. What makes the Strangers pack so special is how super whacky the ideas were. Upside-down- sideways-face? Sure. Crazy three-eyed fish fella? Awesome. A living portal? Perfect. With this pack, we had the opportunity to really push the envelope creatively and do things that wouldn’t really work with other themes we had done in the past."SARAH KISOR

Look out for a larger interview, about the designs and influences for the Strangers, with Sarah next week! Unsettlingly odd though these settlers are, everyone’s a stranger until you get to know them. Maybe the only way to find out what it’s like to be them is to hop into their skin and walk around in it for a bit. VILLAGER TRADING COMES TO POCKET/WIN 10!

Here's the deal with the 1.0.4 update!

Let's make a trade, readers! We'll give you Villager trading in Windows 10 and Pocket edition, plus we'll throw in a ton of tweaks and bug fixes in the 1.0.4 update. In return, you have to give us... nothing? Dammit. We shouldn't have dropped out of negotiation school. It wasn't our fault. The best students were just really good at negotiating with us to go away.

Anyway, you can now trade to your hearts content with the villagers! That's just one of many updates and tweaks, which we've listed below. Best of all, the villager children now have adorable, larger-sized heads! A nice bonus, or a clever way for sneaky villagers to distract with their cute offspring while ripping you off? Trade carefully, and enjoy the update!

Here's a list of the key changes:

New Features:

• Added Villager Trading!
• Added Strangers Skin Pack
• Music, sounds, and user interface can now be modified using Add-Ons
• Added the Storage screen in Settings to manage worlds, resource packs, and behavior packs
• New Add-On format: All of your old Add-Ons will automatically update to the new format. You may see warnings on those Add-Ons but they will be fully functional

Tweaks:

• The models for the Shulker and Ender Dragon can now be edited using Add-Ons
• Husks are now a little bit taller than Zombies
• Baby Villagers now have adorable, larger-sized heads
• Addition of CDN for downloading optional content, reducing game file sizes
• Added low render distance options for older devices

Bug Fixes:

• Clicks are now registered when quickly right-clicking items in the inventory
• Field of View will now increase properly when sprinting and Field of View is set to max in the settings
• The Nether Star can no longer be destroyed by explosions
• Capes will no longer appear when wearing Elytra
• Fixed the hitbox on Stone and Wooden Buttons so they can no longer be stepped on by players and other mobs
• Zombie Villagers of different variants now keep their professions when importing a world from 0.15.9 or earlier
• Destroying a painting no longer destroys the block behind it
• Ridden mobs (e.g. Spider Jockeys) can now be pulled into Minecarts
• Villagers will no longer wander too far away from their Village and run slower when attacked.
• Achievements no longer unlock in Survival if Behavior Packs are used
• Several achievements fixed and will now unlock
• Several texture issues fixed
• Several crash issues fixed
• The game no longer needs to be restarted before a shader pack is applied
• Villagers will no longer do farming work if they're not a farmer
• Villagers are less greedy and will no longer immediately pick up items thrown at them. They'll even throw food for other Villagers

SOME EXPLANATION

• The reason why I changed the minecraftvillagernews.blogspot.com to kurtminecraft.blogspot.com again its because the website that I submitted on the google adsense application is "kurtminecraft....." and I updated the website and I change the url of kurtminecraft..... into minecraftvillager..... So the adsense said "Unable to review your site: While reviewing http://kurtminecraft.blogspot.com, we found that your site was down or unavailable." Then I realized I changed the url of kurtminecraft.....
• I don't publish some Minecraft news this past 3 days because I am so busy on school plus I'm trying to figure out how google analytics work? how google console works? etc.... Besides there is no big news but I'm tring to keep updated.

How to take screenshots in every version of Minecraft!

What's the point of building something great in Minecraft if you can't then show it off to the world? Exactly! So we've compiled this handy guide to help you take the best screens in every version.

PC/JAVA Press F2 to take a screenshot. Use your computer's search function and type in '%appdata%' and open this folder. Open the .minecraft folder and then Screenshots. And there they are!

Windows 10 Edition Open the Windows game bar by holding the Windows button and G simultaneously, then select the camera icon to take a screenshot. Or hold the Windows button, Alt and Prtscn together to take a screenshot straightaway.

Mac Pressing Shift, Cmd and 4 together will take a full screen screenshot. These are saved on your desktop.

Xbox One Double tap the Xbox button on your controller. Now you can press Yto take a screenshot or X to record a video clip. Then visit Xbox.com, login to your Xbox Live account and you'll find all your screenshots in the Captures section of your profile page.

Remember, you can fly in Creative Mode. It's an easy trick for taking large-scale screens like this!

PS4
You can hold down the SHARE button on your controller to take a screenshot. Or tap the SHARE button to open a new menu, with options to take a screenshot, record video and how to share your captures.

Wii U Press the HOME button. Go into Miiverse and post a comment. As well as text, you'll be able to post whatever image was in-game when you pressed HOME.

iPhone Press the sleep/wake button on your phone and the Home button simultaneously to take the screenshot. You'll find your screenshots by going into the Photos App, in Albums and then Camera Roll.

Android Android phones that are 4.0 and above are easy. Just press the Volume Down and Power Button simultaneously. Older Android models are trickier as they vary from phone to phone. Search the model of yourphone online to see if it has screenshot functionality.

Try taking screens from unique angles to make them more interesting and original. A photo of a chicken? Boring. But a photo of loads of chickens from a birds-eye view? BEST CHICKEN SHOT EVER.

Kindle Fire HD You can take a screenshot on your Fire HD by pressing the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. Keep in mind that this only works for the Kindle Fire HD and above.

PS Vita Press the PS button and the START button simultaneously. You'll find your screens in the Photos folder.

Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 This is where it gets tricky! Neither the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 have built-in screenshot functions that support Minecraft. But! If you invest in some video capture technology, you'll be able to take screenshots. It's not the cheapest solution, but shop around and you'll soon be able to take screens from these older console versions.

PROBLEMS

• For some reason in other devices, if "www" or "https://" was not on the URL address it will direct to an unknown domain and not on my website.
• The background picture is a tile design, because if its not a tile design it is not wide enough to fit in devices. I suggest if your on android devices click the "view web version" in the bottom of the post, some of the post have a disarranged letters and picture so try the web version for better viewing.

I don't know how to fix the problems if you know, let me now it too.

FALLOUT BATTLE MAPS NOW ON CONSOLE

Battle mini game goes for the nuclear option

Kaboom! In a flash of light, brighter than a thousand suns, Fallout engulfs Console Edition’s Battle mini game. Our friends at 4J have meddled with the very fabric of the Minecraft universe itself, tearing apart its matter and fusing it into three new Battle maps, each inspired by the blasted future depicted in the Fallout RPG series.

You can grab the pack today for $2.99, or your local equivalent. Postapocalyptic barter systems are not yet accepted as an effective means of payment - sorry.

Of course, Console Edition has already basked in the toasty glow of the Fallout Mash-Up pack - and it was while we were playing this that the idea of Fallout Battle maps came to us. I had a quick chat with 4J’s art director, David Keningale, to get a little more info on how each of the three maps came about.

“We tried out various different scenarios to see how they would look as Battle maps and we could quickly see Fallout would fit really well,” says David. “But we knew we couldn't just take anything from Fallout's open world and hope it worked: Battle maps have to be pretty self-contained. By contrast, we did think about doing things in a Vault but we felt it was too enclosed for the way that Battle plays and you might get lost in the tunnels a little bit too much. So we decided to take it above ground and condense some of our favourite areas from across the series.”

LIBERTALIA

This destroyed dockyard, repurposed as a raider settlement in Fallout 4, is the inspiration for our first Battle map. Husks of decaying watercraft lie tilted in the waters, makeshift scaffolds and walkways allowing players to skip from one rust-bucket to the next. But the very openness of the sea posed an interesting design challenge for 4J:

“For Battle, we’d normally have a big arena, generally with high walls all around," explains David, "but with Libertalia, which is basically a floating junkyard in the sea, we completely departed from that. We’ve got some natural barriers in place to stop players getting too far, and we’ve raised the sea bed so people know roughly when they’re going out of the zone.

"We’ve tried to keep it as lively as possible - Libertalia has got lots and lots of water, so we’ve made sure there are plenty of cables to run across, made from End Rods."

Though if you do end up taking a swim, voluntarily or otherwise, it's not a disaster. "You can also dive under the water," says David. "There may be some secrets to find down there!”

CAPITOL

This map is a sort of Greatest Hits of Fallout’s vision of shattered Americana, pulling together different urban elements from across the series. There are nods to Fallout 3’s Capital Wasteland, with the Capitol Building looming in the background of the map, while its dilapidated cityscape, strung across with overpasses, conceals notable destinations from Fallout 4 - like the iconic Red Rocket truck stop.

“When we were starting to design these maps, I thought that we would have to rework Libertalia an awful lot,” says David, “but as it turned out, it was actually Capitol that became the biggest problem. It was such a complex arena, as far as finding each other was concerned.

“We wanted to create good sight lines so that players would be able to spot each other running around, but we also wanted it to feel vast and sort of desolate as well. So there were a lot of challenges in achieving that! We had to compress down the high-rise buildings for example, so that you weren’t continually lost, and the map still worked with a handful of players as well as many.”

ATOMICS GALLERIA

Appearing in Fallout 4, the General Atomics Galleria is a sort of technology showcase themepark, designed by a long-dead corporation to model what a robot-run commercial district might look like. It's somehow survived the nuclear war, and sits derelict, waiting for its grand re-opening. Turn-up without the right authentication, however, and the robotic Director may not be quite so welcoming, transforming the themepark into a deadly obstacle course.

“As a level, it forms this nice little circuit with a giant Mr Handy in the middle,” says David. “So the way it plays in Fallout lended itself really well to Battle as well – being this tight little arena, with booby traps everywhere.

“But as time went on, we felt there wasn’t quite enough. Because the buildings are all quite low, there wasn’t quite enough height in the play area, especially on the larger, eight-player version of the game. You can run in and out the buildings, and you can get onto the roofs, but we felt we had to take that a little bit further for eight players - so we’ve imagined the Atomics Galleria as though it had been taken over by Raiders. We’ve got Raider tunnels underneath the map to give us a little bit more play area, so people can pop up from different parts of the map and run into the back of buildings you wouldn’t expect them to have access to.”

The maps are available to download for Console Edition today, so head out into the multiplayer wasteland and see if you have what it takes to be the Sole Survivor.
